Medicine Wheel

Medicine Wheel

In Native American cultures Medicine Wheels are created on the ground in places of spiritual importance. Part of a series of paintings depicting the important symbolism skulls have to certain cultures. With our Western conditioning and dualistic attitudes to death, we find them macabre... In many other cultures a skull is a symbolic object which once played host to a being with a soul and now, no longer of any use, represents a transition to another plane of existence. In Native American cultures, animal skulls are turned to face east. 50 x 50 cm. £300
