Bernie Clifton

This gag probably only works in the UK. It centres on Bernie Clifton. Bernie is one of those great British acts that use a soft toy as a career prop. Rod Hull, Roger De Corsey and Keith Harris are other examples. Most people find this kind of entertainment hilarious but now and again you find people who don't. Sometimes, some people's anger can be hilarious and this is the aim of the gag. Apologies to Bernie. Originally I was going to use Ken Dodd but I decided to use Ken in another cartoon. I have also used Rod Hull and Keith Harris in the interests of fairness.
This cartoon is coloured on a computer. The original is black ink on smooth art paper and can be bought in a mount for £40. Almost all these cartoons are under 15 cm across (6"). This particular cartoon would not be suitable as a gift for someone who dislikes Marmite.
